This is us, the blood family of Taber and Bier. Mom and Dad; Rebecca, Jessica, Jonathan, and Sara; Asa, Sadie, Ursula, Flora, and Silvia.
These are our last days of tangible touchable material wholeness.
I am holding our togetherness, storing it, closing my eyes and letting it wash over me, even the tantrums and the sleeplessness and the bruises that heal.
And I am seeing how big our togetherness could be, can be, is. We are being fed by saints, serenaded by angels, and prayed for by the company of heaven. I love everyone who comes by and sits with my Mom, laughing, sharing stories, finding out new things about each other.
She grows more beautiful day by day. The chaff is falling away, and that kernel of bright happy glowing is shining shining shining. She is bringing out the best in all of us.
How could I not be grateful?
